Havana, December 11 (RHC)-- Cuba will host the 16th Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples' of Our America -- People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) Summit of Heads of State and Government on December 14th in Havana.

Last month, the 17th session of the bloc’s Political Council met in Managua, Nicaragua, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to work for Latin American and Caribbean unity and promoting diversity.

This year's Summit will pay homage to the group’s founders, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, “two visionary brothers,” according to David Choquehuanca, ALBA-TCP secretary general.

He noted that ALBA-TCP is important at a time when “dark forces long for the return of neocolonialism, because division came to our continent with colonialism, along with racism, the culture of division and war.”
