Havana, February 6 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister,  Bruno Rodríguez, warned Wednesday that the idea of sending humanitarian aid to Venezuela is another pretext to launch a military invasion against that South American nation.

Cuba’s top diplomat made the statement in a tweet, in which he added that the United States government is the real author of the coup in Venezuela.

"The imposition of 'humanitarian aid' continues as a pretext for military aggression. History will judge severely the complicity of others, ' Rodriguez twitted.

The foreign minister recently urged for a mobilizartion to stop the imperialist intervention in Latin America.

Colombian authorities on Tuesday detailed plans for the collection and storage of initial shipments of food and medical aid at its frontier with Venezuela ahead of talks with leaders from the opposition-controlled National Assembly in Caracas about its eventual distribution.

Further shipments to be routed through Brazil and an as-yet unnamed Caribbean island have also been announced.

Venezuelan security forces blocked the three-lane border crossing from the Colombian town of Cucuta on Tuesday using two shipping containers and a fuel tanker. Armed Venezuelan soldiers stood guard at the customs building, pledging to turn back any attempt to cross the border.
