Havana, April 4 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has rejected the announcement by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo regarding the two-week postponement of the application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Law.

In a tweet, the top Cuban diplomat described the law as an "aberration that should never have existed", in a response to a communiqué sent by Pompeo on April 3rd to the U.S. Congress, noting that the U.S. "continues to examine the situation of human rights in Cuba and is also monitoring the continuous military, security and intelligence support" that Cuba is offering Maduro.

Rodriguez noted that the law is a violation of international law, that harms every Cuban and every family, and has been overwhelmingly condemned by the international community.

Pompeo announced that the U.S. will postpone the application of the Helms-Burton Law, for a further two weeks once the current suspension expires on April 17th.
