Havana, April 6 (RHC)-- Raul Castro, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, received his Excellency Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, who was on an official visit to our country.

During the cordial meeting, they recalled the historic ties that bind Cuba to Africa, in particular to Ghana, the first country on that continent to establish relations with Cuba after the triumph of the
Revolution.  In recalling the 60th anniversary of that event, they reiterated the feelings of solidarity and brotherhood existing between both governments and peoples.

Accompanying the distinguished visitor was the Minister of Education, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and Ambassador Napoleon Abdulai.  On the Cuban side, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez participated in the meeting.
