Havana, April 16 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has pointed to the value of the dignity of several small nations of the Caribbean in the face of American expansionism as expressed in the Monroe Doctrine and the surrender of the countries of the so-called Lima Group.

"Foreign ministers of the so-called Grupo de Lima are in lock-step with US Secretary of State Pompeo about an alleged negative influence of Cuba on Venezuela," the head of Cuban diplomacy wrote on his Twitter account.

This group of 14 countries held their 12th meeting in Santiago, Chile, Monday, in which they continued with the interventionist and interventionist actions promoted by the Trump administration to overthrow the legitimate Bolivarian government led by Nicolás Maduro.

A declaration of 17 points was signed by the representatives of 11 Latin American countries, after an tour of several South American countries by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

The text proposed that other nations and institutions join its effort to overthrow the authorities of Venezuela, qualifying as a "threat to international peace and security, with regional and global effects."
