Heredia Theater complex in Santiago de Cuba, venue of the fair

Havana, May 27 (RHC)-- Expo Caribe trade fair is returning to Santiago de Cuba, after a hiatus of 11 years. The Heredia Theater exhibit grounds will host the event from June 19 to 22.

This year´s edition is expected to be ideal for the promotion of goods and firms from all over the island, especially those from Camaguey and the eastern provinces. It also seeks to strengthen trade ties with neighboring Caribbean nations.

The resumption of the fair, the second largest of its type in the country, responds to a government´s strategy of reinforcing ties with the Caribbean region.

Speaking to media outlets in Havana, Foreign Trade and Investment vice minister, Ileana Nunez, said that the relaunching of the event coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Association of Caribbean States, and that it will also provide foreign investment opportunities.

According to Expo Caribe organizers, over a hundred Cuban companies will be represented at the event, and a dozen Caribbean countries will send delegation.

As part of the Fair, the 12th Business Forum of the Great Caribbean will be held, sponsored by the ACS, which will discuss trade, transport, multi-destination tourism and cooperation in the region.
