Havana, June 27 (RHC)-- Lawmakers from the provinces of Havana, Mayabeque and Matanzas, as well as the special municipality of the Isle of Youth, met on Wednesday in the Cuban capital to discuss the draft of the new Electoral Law.

The text will be submitted to a thorough evaluation during the upcoming Third Ordinary Period of Sessions of the 9th Legislature of the Cuban parliament, convened for July 13.

The session will also evaluate the draft of laws on National Symbols and Fisheries.

The president of the Parliament, Esteban Lazo Hernandez was present at the discussion. He told the lawmakers that their proposals will make the new electoral law a more thorough document.

According to the recently approved Constitution, that law must be approved by the end of October.
