Havana, July 5 (RHC)-- The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples -ICAP-, has conveyed its support and solidarity to former Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in a letter published on the official website of the Workers' Party of Brazil.

According to the official website of ICAP, the document states that as soon as ICAP became aware of his unjust imprisonment, it has worked uninterruptedly in favor of his immediate release.

The letter addressed to the ex-Workers Party leader is signed by the president of ICAP and one of the Cuban Five, Fernando González Llort, and affirms that solidarity is as an essential tool to destroy the machinery of the oligarchies and the far-right power, which still has the support of the domestic and foreign transnational media.

Fernando González said that ICAP is closely following all the details of the false legal process against Lula, who has been in prison since April 7, 2018 for alleged acts of corruption.
