Havana, July 8 (RHC)--Vietnam’s vice president Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, arrived in Cuba on Sunday to begin a 5-day official visit, as part of the ongoing economic, commercial and political exchanges between the two nations.

 

The Vietnamese high-ranking official’s visit responds to an invitation from her counterpart, Salvador Valdes Mesa, first vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, with whom she will exchange on the strengthening of the cordial relations and cooperation that the two nations share.

 

Her agenda includes meetings with other top leaders of the island. In her capacity as permanent president of the Vietnam Women's Union, she will also hold meetings with the leadership of the Federation of Cuban Women.

 

The Vietnamese vice-president arrived in Havana from Basel, Switzerland, where she participated in the 29th  Global Summit of Women.

 

Born on 25 December 1959, Ngoc Thinh has been a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam since 1979 and is a member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Parliament.
