President assesses employment program and demographic dynamics

Havana, July 17 (RHC)—Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez advocated on Tuesday for a temporary solution for workers laid off in activities demanded by the national economy.

During a meeting to evaluate the country´s employment program and the attention to the island´s demographic dynamics, the Cuban president highlighted the possibility of perfecting the multiple jobs option currently carried out by more than 200,000 people island wide, in addition to the encouragement of remote employment.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, Diaz-Canel also referred to the business groups that have more companies than they can tend to, while noting that small and medium-sized (SMEs) enterprises, both in the state and private can coexist.

The meeting addressed the issue of demographic dynamics in Cuba, and it was said that efforts continue to adopt the necessary measures so that infertile couple can have the desired children.

Likewise, the issue of the refurbishing, maintenance and construction of housing for mothers with three or more children under the age of 12 was analyzed, a stimulus policy that the country has, the report stressed.

In this regard, the Cuban president stressed the importance of having single mothers with such characteristics can have a home with good conditions.

At the meeting, the situation with daycare centers and homes for the elderly was also addressed.
