Hanoi, Apr 10 (RHC), – The President of the Vietnam Homeland Front, Nguyen Thien Nhan, highlighted Cuba's solidarity and support for Vietnam, during a meeting on Wednesday with the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Kenia Serrano.

During the meeting, Thien Nhan made manifest his country's interest to strengthen cooperation with Cuba and requested information regarding the economic transformations taking place in the Caribbean island.

For her part, Serrano described Vietnam's own series of economic reforms in the 1980s, known as the Doi Moi, as very helpful for Cuba in its efforts to reach greater development in a socialist oriented economy.

The ICAP delegation, including its vice president for Asia, Alicia Corredera, also met with the foreign relations department of the Communist Party of Vietnam and a similar commission from the National Assembly.
