Havana, August 29 (RHC)--  Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla on Thursday condemned Venezuela's exclusion from a meeting scheduled for the next few days that will address the ecological crisis suffered by the Amazon region as a result of the forest fires.

"The call for a meeting of Amazonian countries that excludes Venezuela is a vulgar politicization of the current ecological crisis, the fire does not understand political differences nor the lungs, the cooperation of all Amazonian countries is essential", said the Foreign Minister in Twitter.

The presidents of Peru, Martín Vizcarra, and Colombia, Iván Duque, announced on Wednesday that they will convene an urgent meeting of the leaders of the countries that share the Amazon, a proposal supported by Brazil's Jair Bolsonaro.

The meeting takes place weeks after the devastating fires that consume a large part of the Amazon rainforest, especially in Brazil, began.
