Havana, November 23  (RHC)-- Management and resolution of conflicts, and ethics were the central themes of the international congress Advocacy 2019, which concluded in the Cuban capital on Friday.

Cuban Minister of Justice, Oscar Silvera,  pointed out that the event took place a few months after the approval of the Constitution, which is why legal institutions are challenged to draft laws that update the Cuban legal system, following the Magna Carta.

The Minister commended the event's pre-congress courses, which provided participants with the opportunity to acquaint themselves with international negotiations, transactions, and contracts, some of the country's priorities in the field.

He expressed his gratitude for the attendance of the foreign participants, despite the challenging international context such as the breakdown of democratic processes in countries of the region.

Sponsored by the National Organization of Collective Law Firms, during the event, the delegates called for peace, compliance with laws, respect for the dignity and fundamental human rights.

More than 1,200 delegates from some 20 countries met since Wednesday to discuss legal issues related to judicial conflicts.
