World governments congratulate Cuba on 61st anniversary of the Revolution

Havana, January 2 (RHC)--Many governments have sent messages of congratulations to the first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, Raúl Castro, to Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and the Cuban people, on the 61st anniversary of the Revolution.

In a letter, Russian President Vladimir Putin described bilateral relations as very dynamic and expressed the hope that the strategic partnership between the two nations would be further strengthened for the benefit of their peoples.

Likewise, the top leaders of the Communist Party (VCP), the State, and the Government of Vietnam sent messages of congratulations to their counterparts and to the people of the Caribbean nation.

Vietnam's Communist Party Secretary-General and President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed the satisfaction and pride of generations of Vietnamese for witnessing the achievements of the Cuban people.
For his part, the Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Jong Un, congratulated Raul Castro and Diaz-Canel.

Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, president and vice-president of Nicaragua, respectively, said: "With growing pride and joy we are celebrating another year of the undefeated Cuban Revolution, of the inspiring dignity and victorious strength of a people that neither sells out nor ever surrenders."

Messages also arrived in Cuba from the presidents of Singapore, Mdm Halimah Yacob; of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen; the Dominican president, Danilo Medina, and the minister of foreign affairs of that nation, Miguel Vargas; as well as the head of state of Latvia, Egils Levits.

Best wishes from Africa were expressed by Presidents Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, Chagwa Lungu of Zambia, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, Paul Biyan of Cameroon and Danny Faure of Seychelles.

Similarly, from Greece, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent warm congratulations and wishes of prosperity to the friendly people of Cuba, as well as the King of the Netherlands, Williem-Alexander, and the monarch of Belgium, Phillipe Léopold Louis Marie.

The Government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas also extended its sincere congratulations to Cuba for the celebration and expressed its commitment to continue strengthening relations between the two nations.
