Atilio Borón and Ignacio Ramonet participate in International Congress University 2020

Havana, February 13 (RHC)-- Argentine political scientist Atilio Borón and Spanish professor Ignacio Ramonet will deliver lectures this Thursday at the 12th International Congress University 2020 on the role of universities in meeting the challenges of sustainable development.

Another highlight of the event, which is taking place at the Havana Convention Center, is a panel that will bring together Cuban ministers on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Coordinated by the Cuban Vice-Minister of Higher Education, Alicia Alonso, there will be presentations by the Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil Fernández, and the Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment, Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya.

There will also be a panel on international cooperation for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the participation of representatives from United Nations agencies with offices in Cuba and international cooperation agencies.

Over two thousand delegates from 50 countries are taking part in Universidad 2020.  The event concludes on Friday.
