Havana, April 22 (RHC)-- On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, and with a message to the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba affirmed it was united "with all the revolutionaries of the world" in the reverent memory of the founder and leader of the legendary October Socialist Revolution.

The text introduces the fraternal greeting through the words of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro: "It must be said that Lenin's thought has had a great influence on the Cuban revolutionary process.  Lenin's ideas, as a result of the October Revolution, were widely disseminated throughout the world, and in our country they found a fertile soil, they found followers who were inspired by that thought.  And during the revolutionary process of struggle from 1930 to 1933, Cuban revolutionaries were deeply influenced by Lenin's thoughts."

The message points to the continuity of Lenin's vocation in the different stages of the revolutionary struggle, "since the creation of the Cuban Communist Party, founded by Carlos Baliño and Julio Antonio Mella, affiliated to the Third International, organized by Lenin; in the ideals of the Centennial Generation, headed by Fidel, and during these years of construction of socialism in Cuba.

"In the face of the serious problems facing the world today, including the pandemic of the new coronavirus, we reiterate our firm conviction that only socialism will save humanity and be able to lead us to a better world, full of justice and equality," the message concludes.
