Havana, May 5 (RHC) – The Mexican senate welcomed the signing of a group of protocols between that country and Cuba, by describing them as very beneficial for bilateral relations.

The Mexican senate stressed the extension of a credit line to encourage trade and investment, and a letter of intent for bilateral cooperation.

The lawmakers also stressed the adoption of an extradition treaty and legal assistance accord in the penal area, as well as the expansion of the Complementary Economic Accord.

Other protocols included one on tourist collaboration, mutual recognition of studies and a memorandum of understanding in the sectors of the environment and natural resources.

Also included is an accord stipulating the condoning of 70 percent of the Cuban debt to Mexico’s National Foreign Trade Bank.
