Bern, June 17 (RHC)-- The Swiss Labor Party-Party of the Workers and People's Party highlighted Cuba's solidarity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and called for the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to the nation's doctors.

In a statement, the group highlighted the work of the Cuban doctors and advocated giving the award to the Henry Reeve Brigades, sent to some 30 countries to support actions against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

While the president of the United States, Donald Trump, tries to dismantle the World Health Organization, the socialist island of Cuba once again sets the example and demonstrates that another world is possible, the text points out.

It also highlights the internationalism of Cuban health workers and recognizes the achievements of the island in confronting the pandemic, despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington.
