Raul Castro Meets Visiting Chinese Chief of Staff

Havana, May 20 (RHC) – Cuban President Raul Castro received the Chief of Staff of the People’s Army of China, Colonel General Fang Fenghui, and his delegation on Monday afternoon.

The high-ranking Chinese military officer paid an official visit to the island at the invitation of the Ministry of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, Granma newspaper reported on Tuesday.

During their stay in Cuba, the Chinese visitors met with high-ranking military officers in the context of historic relations between the two armed institutions.

They also met with Army Corps General Leopoldo Cintra Frias, minister of the Armed Forces on Monday, and paid tribute on Sunday to Cuban Independence Hero, Antonio Maceo, among other activities.
