Havana, May 21 (RHC) – The 9th National Congress of Otorhinolaryngology opened on Tuesday at Havana's Conventions Palace, with the participation of more than 300 experts from 20 countries, including 230 Cuban delegates.

Tuesday's opening session included the presentation of the Cuban program for care of people with hearing impairment, and a master's conference on neuro-developmental disorders in children under five years of age.

A conference on noise, environment, society and health will be given by Cuban Dr. Hector Hernandez, while other specialists from the National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology will speak about laryngeal cancer and its effective treatment with Cuban-made biotechnological products.

The forum, which runs parallel to the 5th Logopedics and Phoniatrics National Congress, concludes on Wednesday and makes a wonderful opportunity for professional exchange and evaluation of the latest technological advances in this medical branch.
