Angola and Cuba Want to Strengthen Defense Cooperation

Luanda, May 22 (RHC) –- The Angolan Minister of the National Defense, João Lourenço, and Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas, analyzed on Wednesday in Luanda the existing cooperation relations between the two countries in the field of defense, advocating the need of its expansion.

The intention of reinforcing the cooperation was expressed to the press by the Angolan minister at the end of the meeting with the Cuban official.

Lourenço stressed that relations with Cuba have always been good in all areas, with emphasis on the defense field.

According to João Lourenço, the cordial meeting with Ricardo Cabrisas mirrored the excellent state of relations between the two countries.

For his part, Cabrisas recalled that the friendship between Cuba and Angola was forged in the struggle for the independence of the African state, stating that the cooperation in the domain of defense holds special significance.
