New Cuban Minister of the Interior appointed

Havana, November 25 (RHC)-- The Council of State, upon the proposal of the President of the Republic and with the prior approval of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, has agreed to promote Brigadier General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, the current Deputy Minister of the Interior, to the post of Minister of the Interior, informed Granma newspaper.

General Alvarez Casas, 57 years old, has held various positions in the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, transitioning from the rank-and-file in the Military Counter-Intelligence to his current responsibility in the Ministry of the Interior. He served in an internationalist mission in Angola and has n Angola and has performed services, with positive results, in different commands and regions of the country.
