Western Saharan President Concludes Visit to Cuba

Havana, June 5 (RHC) -– The President of the Republic of Western Sahara and Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mohamed Abdelaziz concluded Wednesday a two-day official visit to Cuba, where he held talks with his Cuban counterpart, Raul Castro, as well as other high ranking officials.

On the occasion of the visit, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples organized a ceremony of solidarity with the Saharawi people, in the presence of the President, as a guest of honor, the diplomatic corps accredited in Havana and a number of politicians, intellectuals, personalities and members of the Sahrawi community.

The members of the Sahrawi delegation held specialized meetings with Cuban officials in the sectors of Foreign Affairs, Education, Health, solidarity and others.

President Abdelaziz arrived in Cuba after attending in El Salvador the investiture ceremony of President Salvador Sanchez Ceren.

The Sahrawi President was accompanied by a delegation including members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek and Khira Bellahi, Foreign Minister and Minister for Vocational Training, Individuals and Public Function, respectively, as well as the Advisor to the Presidency Abdati Breika.
