British Ambassador Interested in Cultural Traditions of Eastern Cuba

Santiago de Cuba, June 11 (RHC) – British ambassador to Cuba Tim Cole met with local authorities in eastern Santiago de Cuba and expressed his interest in learning more about the cultural traditions of the region.

Ambassador Cole headed a British diplomatic to Santiago and he expressed his willingness to explore artistic and cultural activities and favor the teaching of the English Language.

The British officials are scheduled to meet with representatives of the Universidad de Oriente and the Caribbean Center, which is currently organizing the 34th International Caribbean Festival for July.

According to the local culture office, joint work with the British embassy could include the exhibition of documentary films and and visual arts works by artists from Santiago de Cuba, who prepare celebrations for the 500 anniversary of the Cuban city.
