Cuba and Iran Ratify High Level of Diplomatic Links

Tehran, June 27 (RHC)-– Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina has ratified the excellent state of political links between his country and the Islamic Republic of Iran, during an ongoing visit to the Persian nation.

According to a statement issued by the Cuban embassy in Tehran, Medina met with Iran's Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, and extended an invitation to visit Cuba as soon as the Iranian leader's agenda allows it.

The communiqué also states that the Cuban deputy minister met with his counterpart from Iran, Morteza Sarmadi, with whom he examined the possibilities for the expansion of economic and trade links.

To that end, Medina will also meet with Trade, Mining and Industry minister, Valiollah Afkhami Rad, during a session of the joint intergovernmental commission that will address bilateral economic and commercial ties and ways to boost such exchange.

According to the press release, Cuba's deputy foreign minister will also visit places of historic and cultural interest in Tehran.
