Madrid, August 20 (RHC)-- Etxarri Aranatz City City Council in the Chartered Community of Navarre, Spain, approved a motion calling on U.S. President Barack Obama to release the three Cuban anti-terrorists still unfairly imprisoned in U.S. jails.

The proposal demands Obama make use of his executive powers to end the unfair sentence on Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino and Antonio Guerrero, who together with Fernando González and René González –- already in Cuba after fully serving their sentences -- were working to prevent violent attacks against Cuba.

Etxarri Aranatz City Council's decision joined other actions previously taken by similar institutions from the Basque country and Navarre's Usurbilgo which have shown solidarity with the Five's cause.
