Havana, September 1 (RHC) -— Cuba is implementing measures to guarantee epidemiological security amid the current Ebola outbreak in Western Africa, even when no cases have been detected on the island.

During a recent TV appearance, the head of the Transmissible Diseases Department at the Cuban Health Ministry, Francisco Duran, said that surveillance actions have been reinforced as workers at airports and harbors have been trained over the past several months about the characteristics of the Ebola virus so that they can rapidly detect any case.

The official said that the security of Cuban workers abroad is also guaranteed and than none of them is working in any zone with Ebola risk.
