Fight Against Corruption in Cuba Part of Independence Process

Havana, October 26 (RHC)-- Cuban general comptroller and country's vice-president Gladys Bejerano said in China that the fight on corruption in Cuba is relevant to the island's process of independence and freedom and it is also part and parcel of permanent Cuban essence and philosophy.

Bejerano addressed the final session of the 21st Congress of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, a UN agency known by its acronyms INTOSAI.

The Cuban vice-president referred to the experience, development and transformations of the Cuban Supreme Audit Entity, which was first a National Audit Office under the Finance and Price Ministry to later turn into the Audit and Control Ministry.

She also stressed the invaluable assistance by the UN agency to Supreme Audit Institution and its actions to increase professional capacities and the Exchange of the best practices.

The Congress was held in Beijing with the attendance of 700 delegates from 165 countries of the world.
