Pakistan and Cuba Pledge to Increase Exchange of High-Level Visits

Islamabad, October 24 (RHC) -- Cuba and Pakistan pledged to increase diplomatic and cooperation relations, through the exchange of high-level visits and business contacts.

This was reported during a visit by Cuba's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sierra Diaz to Pakistan from October 22nd to the 24th.

On the first day, the Cuban delegation held the third round of bilateral political consultations between foreign ministries, headed by Sierra Diaz and his counterpart, Burhanul Islam.

Both parties reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and its evolution since the Second Round of Bilateral Political Consultations that was held in Havana in 2012.

The Cuban deputy foreign minister highlighted the strong ties of solidarity and cooperation existing between both nations, while expressing appreciation for Pakistan's support at international forums.

Both parties also highlighted the great potential for economic partnership and agreed to promote trade and other forms of economic cooperation.

During their stay, the Cuban delegation was received by several government officials and members of parliament.
