Havana, November 3 (RHC) – The 32nd Havana International Trade Fair was officially inaugurated on Sunday as the largest of its kind over the past 12 years given the attendance of thousands of business people from about 60 nations of the world.

In his opening speech, Foreign Trade and Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca announced the presentation during the event of the new portfolio of investment projects, which encourages the setting up of businesses in different key economic sectors.

In this regard, the minister called on participants to take advantage of the opportunities being offered by the fair to reach new business deals and explained to foreign entrepreneurs about the ongoing update of the Cuban economic model. He said the process is advancing as it is now at a higher stage, despite the stiffening of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba.

Malmierca also stressed the presence at the fair of the countries within the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, and particularly the rich representation of Cuba´s major commercial partners, such as Venezuela, China, Russia and Spain.
