President of Kyrgyzstan Advocates Strengthened Cooperation with Cuba

Bishkek, November 6 (RHC)-- The President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said his country wants strengthened cooperation relations with Cuba and pointed to concrete projects in sectors like health, education and culture.

During a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Carlos Valdés, the head of state of the former Soviet republic conveyed a friendly message to Cuban President Raúl Castro and the Cuban people, to whom he wished continued success and prosperity.

In welcoming the Cuban ambassador, President Almazbek Atambayev recalled that his country and Cuba have long enjoyed cordial, fruitful relations dating back to the Soviet era.

For his part, the Cuban ambassador thanked the president of Kyrgyzstan for his warm words and expressed confidence in the development of bilateral links through mutually beneficial cooperation projects.
