Havana, November 7 (RHC) – Junqiu Gu, president of Nantong Xin Li Ji company, expressed his interest in increasing business with Cuba through the opening of a Trade Office on the island. The Chinese businessman spoke to reporters at the 32nd International Fair of Havana FIHAV 2014.

The Nantong Xin Li Ji company commercializes in Cuba the SOYEA and MIDEA brands, Gu said. The first gives its name to the popular digital receivers being sold in Cuba as part of a campaign to bring digital television to Cuba, while the latter is a well known home appliances manufacturer in China.

Junqiu said the establishment of the Trade Office in Cuba is still pending approval by the Chamber of Commerce of the island. Its main objective, he said, would be to take responsibility in providing customers with business consultations, to support sale operations, and provide maintenance service.

Nantong has been doing business with Cuba for over five years, during which it has established strong links with companies subordinated to the Ministry of Foreign Trade, as CONSUMIMPORT, TRD, Cimex SA and Copextel SA.
