Cuba Helps Jamaica against Ebola

Kingston, November 18 (RHC) -– Jamaica has announced the arrival of 30 Cuban health workers who have been trained in Ebola management, under a human resource agreement between Havana and Kingston.

According to the Jamaican Health Ministry, the workers will be deployed in different areas with the guidance of regional health authorities.

The Gleaner newspaper said that Jamaica has undertaken several activities including the establishment of a joint coordinating team led by the Ministry of Health and other government agencies.

A team from the Pan American Health Organization’s Washington Office was also expected to arrive in Jamaica to provide support to several areas of the country’s Ebola preparation and response.
