Havana, November 27 (RHC)-- More than 50 nations around the world benefit from medications and medical equipment produced in Cuba, which constitute one of the country's main exports, according to Cuba's Health Ministry.

In statements to Prensa Latina news agency, Víctor Faife Pérez, who is in charge of Pharmaceutical Services at the ministry, said that more than 30 Cuban pharmaceuticals are exported to member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA) and to several other nations in Asia, Africa and Europe.

Among the Cuban products of high demand is Heberprot P, which has been administered to more than 100,000 foreign patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers. Other medications include stimulants, cancer vaccines and hearing aids to improve learning capabilities and correct disabilities.

The health ministry official added that Cuba is also a major manufacturer and supplier of diagnostic equipment for the early detection of congenital malformations, hereditary disease and other health problems.
