Raul Castro Presides Ceremony for 50 Years of Cuban College CUJAE

Havana, December 3 (RHC-PL) -- Cuban President Raul Castro attended a gala for the 50th anniversary of the Higher Polytechnical Institute José Antonio Echeverría (also known as CUJAE).

The CUJAE, acronym for University city, was founded on December 2nd, 1964 and is an essential part of the educational campaign of the Cuban Revolution, expressed the center's dean, Alicia Alonso.

Alonso highlighted that some 60,000 engineers and architects have graduated from this house of higher studies.

The ceremony was also attended by First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel; and Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés, along other government representatives.

Workers with more than 15 years in the institute received the anniversary seal 50 anniversary, which recognizes their work and contribution to the development of the university and the country's scientific and economic development.
