Havana, January 28 (PL-RHC),-- The Cuban National Ballet School will be named after the renowned educator Fernando Alonso.

The proposal made by Aurora Bosch received a standing ovation during the Eighth Congress of the National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC) in April 2014.

The artist pointed out the need to rescue the legacy of this special educator for training most dancers from her generation.

According to Bosch, Fernando Alonso not only taught them steps, but also gave them a comprehensive education for stages in their lives.

The former first dancer of the Cuban National Ballet (BNC) described Alonso as a meticulous worker who did not underestimate individuals; polished and sculpted dancers; encouraged curiosity and research; and educated with a vast culture.

Alonso founded the BNC and the Cuban Ballet School in 1948 along with his brother Alberto Alonso and his former wife, Alicia Alonso, a great dancer that according to Bosch, was the paradigm of all dancers.
