Cuban, Spanish Communist Leaders Talk in Havana

Havana, January 30 (RHC-PL) -- José Ramón Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), held talks on Thursday with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Spain, José Luis Centella.

The meeting served as scenario for a comprehensive exchange of views on the work of both political organizations, as well as on the complex international situation, especially the global economic crisis.

According to an official statement, Centella welcomed the return to Cuba of all members of the Cuban Five and the bilateral decision to restore diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States.

The encounter was also attended by the member of the United Left Party, MEP Willy Meyer.

The Cuban side was represented by the Head of the Department of International Relations of the Cuban Communist Party, Jose Ramon Balaguer, and other officials of the Party.
