Havana, January 30 (RHC)-- Danish professors Carsten Heilmann and Hilde Hylland, of the University of Copenhagen, highlighted Cuba's high scientific level and high indexes of health, in spite of the fact that it's not a developed nation.

During their visit to the Hematology and Immunology Institute (IHI) on Thursday, the professors gave the keynote lectures entitled 'Bone Marrow Transplants in Pediatric patients in Denmark', and 'Lung Diseases in Bone Marrow Transplants', respectively, and shared experiences with colleagues of that institution showing notable achievements in this field.
Heilmann, head of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Hemopoietic Cell Transplants of the Pediatric Clinic of the National University Hospital of Copenhagen, and Dr. Hylland, a specialist of that center, expressed their interest in maintaining exchanges with the IHI and in carrying out joint works.

Accompanied by Doctor of Sciences Consuelo Macias, general director of the IHI, and Doctor Juan Carlos Jaime, head of the Transplant Unit, respectively, the experts were given details about services offered there in the field of research and attention to hematological diseases, particularly malign haemopathies.
