Berlin, February 10 (RHC-PL) -- Cuban ambassador to Germany, Rene Mujica Cantelar, carried out a working visit to the University of Art and Design in the city of Halle, to assess the collaboration of this center with academic institutions in Cuba.

The diplomat was welcomed in Halle by Professor Dieter Hofmann and Wolfgang Stocker, rector and foreign minister of the German university, the Cuban embassy reported on Tuesday.

During the meeting with the rector of the University, the Cuban diplomat expressed his appreciation for the constant work of exchange of the University with similar institutions of the Cuban system such as the Higher Institute of Arts (ISA) and the Higher Institute of Industrial Design (ISDI) in Havana.

He noted that this collaboration has existed since the times of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR). He also pointed out some aspects related to the compliance with the guidelines of the Party and implementation in the Cuban cultural system.

Hofmann thanked the Cuban diplomat for his visit to the institution, which was part of the activities on occasion of the 100th anniversary of the German University of Art and Design.
