Havana, February 18 (RHC) -– The United States and Cuba will hold their second round of negotiations to resume diplomatic relations on February 27th in Washington.

According to the announcement in Washington, the talks will be hosted by the Department of State and will be led by Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roberta Jacobson, and the general director of the United States Office of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Josefina Vidal.

Both officials and their delegations held the first round of talks January 22nd in Havana and agreed to held a second round on logistical issues to facilitate reopening of embassies in Washington and Havana, according to media reports.

Cuba has expressed that it would be difficult to talk about the re-establishment of diplomatic relations while Washington maintains Cuba on its blacklist of so-called state sponsors of international terrorism, an issue currently under review by the United States.
