Camagüey, November 8 (RHC)- Some 700 higher education and other organizations in 83 countries are now participating in activities aimed at the freedom of four Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unjustly imprisoned in the United States.
The movement’s coordinator, Julian Gutierrez, recalled that it began in 2004 at the Politechnical Institute Jose Antonio Echeverría, in Havana, and was promptly joined by some other 300 university student and higher learning institutions in Cuba.
The movement is known internationally as “Home of the Five”.
Other institutions, such as Camaguey city’s international airport, have also joined this movement asking for the release of the Cuban heroes. The airport received the title at a ceremony in which all its workers participated.
