Cuban Delegation at Summit of the Americas to Exhibit Social Achievements and Economic Advances

Havana, April 6 (RHC)-- At the upcoming Summit of the Americas in Panama, the Cuban delegation will get details of the ongoing process to update Cuban economy and the social achievements the country has maintained over the past 56 years of Revolution.

In statements to the Cuban News Agency, Cuba's Minister for Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Rodrigo Malmierca, said that the Caribbean island state has much to show to the world in terms of profound conceptual and structural changes to infuse the economy with dynamism and efficiency towards prosperous, sustainable growth under socialism.

Malmierca is one of 18 members of a delegation that will represent Cuba at a regional business forum that will run parallel to the Summit of the Americas, organized by the Inter-American Development Bank and the Panamanian government.

At the forum, the Cuban minister for foreign investment and economic cooperation will brief participants on the process to update the Cuban economic model and the country's foreign trade potential.

Some one hundred representatives of Cuban civil society, among them students, farmers, academics, intellectuals and businesspeople will take part in activities that will run parallel to the Summit of the Americas in Panama.
