Santo Domingo, November 9 (RHC)-- Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina received on Friday the director of the Cuban Sexual Education Center, Mariela Castro, who paid a visit to that sister Caribbean nation.
During the meeting, President Danilo Medina and Mariela Castro addressed appropriate strategies to lower the rate of pregnancy in the adolescent population, maternal and child mortality and the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases.
The head of state and the Cuban sexologist also shared views on possible joint work to promote human reproduction rights and sexual health of women and girls and have a positive impact on other countries of the region. Mariela Castro is a member of the High-Level Working Group for the United Nations' International Conference on Population and Development to be held next year.
