Geneva, April 15 (RHC) -- Cuba advocated at the United Nations, the total and complete prohibition of autonomous lethal weapons, especially mines, through a legally binding mechanism.

Claudia Pérez, Cuba's representative in Geneva, said a meeting of experts in the Swiss city, that a global concept of lethal autonomous weapons should be laid out and the greater their lethality, the tighter should be the measures to restrict their use.

The diplomat also stressed Cuba's concern over the indiscriminate use of drones, given their level of autonomy, proposing the adoption of a legally binding instrument to regulate their use.
