Meeting of Foreign Ministers of France and Cuba Announced

Paris, Apr 18, -- French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez will hold a meeting here next April 21, announced the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Friday.

The meeting comes ahead of a programmed visit by French President François Hollande to the Caribbean nation next May 11, the first by a French Head of State to the country.

The Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, Tourism and French Overseas, Matthias FekL, made a working trip to the island from March 5 to 8. During his stay in Cuba, he stressed that his country seeks to strengthen links of cooperation and business with Cuba.

This European nation remains one of the main sources of visitors to Cuba. Currently, France is in the 10th position among Cuba's major trading partners globally, ranking fourth in Europe.
