The Cuban Five Visit Venezuela

Caracas, May 4 (RHC) –- The five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters have begun a visit to Venezuela on Monday at the invitation of President Nicolas Maduro.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez will stay in Caracas until Saturday.

The Five are scheduled to lay a wreath at the monument to Liberator Simon Bolivar, located in a central square in Caracas. They will also visit the mausoleum that holds the mortal remains of Bolivarian leader Hugo Chavez.

The Cuban Five also received the Key to the Venezuelan capital during a ceremony at the National Pantheon, which treasures the remains of Simon Bolivar and other Venezuelan patriots.

During the coming week of their visit, the Cuban heroes will meet with government representatives and Cubans working in Venezuela as part of bilateral cooperation agreements.
