Visiting Speaker of Russian Duma Meets with Cuban Government Officials

Havana, May 5 (RHC)-- Visiting Speaker of the Russian Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament, Serguei Naryshkin, began a series of official activities on Tuesday, in the framework of commemorations on the 55th anniversary of the reestablishment of bilateral Russia-Cuba diplomatic relations.
Naryshkin met Tuesday morning with Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo, and later attended an official ceremony to celebrate the new anniversary and the traditional friendship ties between Havana and Morcow.
The Russian lawmaker's agenda includes his participation in an International Conference on Russian Cooperation with Latin America during World War II and Today, and he is also scheduled to deliver a bust of Soviet astrounat Yuri Gagarin at a ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the Soviet-Cuban joint spaceflight carried out by astrounats Yuri Romanenko and Cuba's Arnaldo Tamayo.
