Cuban President Raul Castro Sends Message to Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos

Havana, November 13 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raul Castro sent a message of congratulations to his Angolan counterpart, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, on the 38th anniversary of Angola's independence, according to the Cuban embassy in that African nation.

"On the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Angola, I send you our fraternal congratulations and ratify the willingness to
continue strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation uniting our fraternal nations," reads the message.

On November 11th, Angola marked independence day, amid a program of national reconstruction and the of promotion of social justice.

The importance of the date goes beyond borders, and is part of the process that puts an end to apartheid in South Africa. Angola's independence was won in 1975, and Namibia followed in 1990.
