Geneva, May 20 (RHC)-- Cuba favors the globalization of human solidarity and called for expanded south to south and north to south cooperation to face and overcome current and future health challenges.

Addressing the 8th Meeting of Health Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Geneva, Cuban Health Minister Roberto Morales highlighted Cuba's commitment to expand its health cooperation with other developing countries and peoples in need.

Morales highlighted the need to improve universal health coverage for all and pointed to the crucial role primary health care programs play to that end.

The Cuban health minister condemned the brain drain policy of some developed countries, attracting young professionals from developing countries. In the field of health, he added, this selective migration policy has a devastating impact, as countries' health care systems are dismantled.
