Cuban Vice President Visits Vietnam

Havana, June 3 (RHC)-- The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and President Truong Tan Sang separately received a delegation of the Communist Party of Cuba, headed by Salvador Valdés Mesa, member of the politburo and vice president of the State Council, who is visiting Vietnam.

According to the official website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the work program consists of two parts, the first from May 28 to june 2 in the capital and in northern Vietnam, and a second from 2 to 4 june in the southern region.

Valdés Mesa also held official talks with Le Hong Anh, member of the politburo and head of the Central Committee of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam. While visiting the northern province of Quang Ninh, Valdés Mesa met also with the second secretary of the party in the region.

During his stay in the southern region, the Cuban vice president met with the head of the government of Ho Chi Minh city, Le Hoang Quan and Can Tho, Party Secretary and Prime Minister.

The report said that the Cuban leader has visited several places of historical, economic and cultural interest in Vietnam.
